A faithful retelling of The Smiths saga
The Smiths are one of my favourite bands of all time so it was a great pleasure to see their story faithfully retold. Neither Morrissey nor Marr are renowned for wanting to relive memories of the Smiths (will the reunion ever happen?), so it's unsurprising they don't feature here. The documentary is however blessed with an eccentric cast of the band's closest confidants and Manchester's finest that help to create a vivid portrait of the band, with some amazing live footage that I've never seen before only adding to the joy. A brilliant watch.
